My First Wheeled Bot Attempt....

The First Attempt: direct motor connect(not enough torque), heavy batteries, weak chassis
Robotics isn't an easy subject to start with. Without knowing the basics jumping over to create fully functional bots is not a good idea. But its also true that learning it hands on is the best way of learning it. Most importantly it tests your patience. Expecting to get it right on the first try will only make you loose your interest. Only the truly enthusiastic survive!

This was my first attempt at making a minimalist beam bot(improvising on the one shown in the workshop). I was expecting it to be the way i posted:
RaCing BeAm bOt! ‪#‎prototype‬ ‪#bot‬ Minimalistic design chasis, Minimalistic electronics, Maximum performance... Still under development!
And it was a stupid big fail. By removing the geared attachment of the 9 volt dc motors(and connecting it directly to the wheels) I was expecting the robot to get enough torque to move on the ground(so foolish of me!). This was the day I learnt that:
Its almost always necessary to first test the bare prototype's mechanical capability before moving on to the electronic and  programming aspects.
After some analysis I managed to create a new bot based on the same electronic mechanism(that too after decoding the real circuit from the PCB and assembling it on a breadboard) and it finally worked as expected. Posting on this with a DIY guide(maybe) soon!
